TitleA WW2 British Horsa Glider
DescriptionLiving Village Collection Q22
She could jettison her fixed undercarriage after take-off to improve towed flight and then land on the underbelly skid you can see extending forward of the underwing wheels.

From the Parish History web site: 10th May 1942 - Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment (AFEE) detachment commenced flying with Horsa gilders, towed by Strling aircraft.

They were not there long, as 10th June 1942 - 60th Transport Group (10th, 11th and 12th Sqns), United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) arrived at RAF Chelveston.

TitleRAF planes post war?
DescriptionLiving Village Collection Q23
The unmistakable shape of an RAF Avro Vulcan in the background, and an RAF Vickers Valiant in the foreground, representing 2 out of the 3 types of V bomber (the Handley Page Victor being the third). Painted white to “survive” the detonation heat flash. Never based at Chelveston, so most likely they are visiting for an airshow. (Mark Hunter 22nd June 2020)
